Tom Guttry of ACE (Alchemic Creative Entertainment) asked me to help visualize just what an Array might have looked like. An Array was an underwater launch pad for a V2 missile that the 3rd Reich wanted to launch at New York City at the end of WWII. I had never heard of this particular Nazi secret weapon and was intrigued as to how it might look. I referenced a very crude plan view to create a scale 3D model and paired it with a WWII-era U-Boat that would have been utilized to tow the vessel to its launch site. A frightening scenario that thankfully never materialized. However, of the three Arrays that were known to have been built, only two destroyed Arrays were accounted for after the war. This image depicts the last surviving Array being transported to Argentina and filled with missing gold bullion to finance the fleeing Nazis' escape. The missing gold, estimated to be worth billions, has never been found.
"History's Greatest Mystery" Mr. Peabody & Sherman Featurette
I wasn't aware this had been finished and published until I stumbled upon it on YouTube yesterday. I think it came out nicely. I did the hieroglyphics, the "Dutch Masters" painting "reveal, the reflection in Mona Lisa's eye, and the red titles at the end.
"Lucky's Clinic" Promo Trailer
After creating a Sales Poster for Ashley Park and Tim McGrath, they asked me to create this promo trailer for their independently-produced TV Pilot "Lucky's Clinic". They needed a quick, funny sales tool for marketing their project, and they were delighted with the result. In addition to producing the spot, I created the graphics, edited the piece itself, wrote the copy and voiced the narration.
NOTE: Please contact me if you would like to privately view the trailer since the client has requested that it not be released to the public at this time.
Mandates, An Original Musical Poster Design
I was privileged to create this logo and poster design for my stepdaughter Gretchen Freihon's original musical "Mandates". The story follows a young Mike Pence (yes THAT Mike Pence) though his life as he struggles to come to grips with the realization that he is gay. Yep!
The play is extremely funny and the music is wonderful. There's even a happy ending; President Trump is impeached and Mike, now President Pence, comes out to the world and finds his true destiny. The play was slated to be performed at the Agoura High School's Black Box Theater, but the Principal of the school, Brian Mercer, banned the play from campus after discovering its inclusive, gay theme. This necessitated that the authors and their parents scramble to find a new venue in a week, this all while the authors were in their last week of High School before graduation.
The musical premiered last night at the Class Act Musical Theater in Woodland Hills to a sold-out crowd of 250 people. The play received not one, not two but three standing ovations for the cast and authors; Gretchen Freihon (creator and author), Jillian Heller (author and composer/performer) and Olivia Kepler (author and editor). Needless to say I am extremely proud of Gretchen, her co-authors, and the incredible cast and crew that wouldn't take no as an answer. Congratulations!
Photo Shoot for the Toyota 2018 Camry Reveal at the Detroit Auto Show
I received a call last week from Tom Guttry of Green Tricycle Studios.
"Can you go to Detroit this Friday?"
"Why?", I asked, quickly looking up the weather and seeing it was 6˚degrees Fahrenheit in Detroit.
"We're streaming a live event revealing the new 2018 Toyota Camry at the biggest auto show in the world and we need to create a photo campaign in one day."
Woof.
I said yes.
I art directed the shoot and composited the final images. Just got back and I think it turned out lovely. Client was ecstatic. Many thanks to Byron Atienza who photographed the celebrity event hosts, Ximena Córdoba and Jason Silva, the crew on the hectic shoot, and Tom Guttry who held it all together for us.

Girl #2 Website
It was great working with Producer/Director David Jeffrey on designing and implementing the website for his Horror / Surprise Ending short Girl #2. The site, which went live today, features animated banners that utilize effected frame sequences from the film, integrated social media posts to Facebook and Twitter, and an HD trailer playable on the site.
Girl #2 is currently making its way through the film festival circuit, having been shown at the "Dances With Film" Festival in Los Angeles and the Nashville Film Festival where it had its World Premiere. Girl #2 is currently slated to be screened at the Chicago Horror Film Festival and the Hollyshorts Film Festival in Hollywood.
Good Luck, David!
